Greetings from Rotherys and Imara in Tanzania.....
Drought:
Right now there is a serious drought on with shortage of food in many parts of the country. For example, North of here at Maasai have lost 50% of their cows already and there is still some time before the rains and grass is around. Food is short and people are coming for help. [the ladies above are waiting for food from a government program] If you would to help at this time, earmark special gifts 'drought relief. I guess we will have folks coming looking for help until July/August.
Imara
:
We recently had our second year celebration for Imara. While Lyndall and I have been here 12 years now as missionaries, we changed our name to Imara not long ago. God spoke to some precious Tanzanian brothers and sisters last week and this is what He said to them for us

“Imara Ministry is like a garage with many different kinds of tools of which if put together will give a complete thing. There are many different kinds of gifts and ministries which God wants to be incorporated without opposition in order that God’s work should continue since this ministry is absolutely God’s plan. Leaders should be strong and not be waved from the vision which you were given by God. You will succeed if you keep the foundation of the vision of God. Others are coming for their own bargains. Read Rom. 12:1-9”
It was great to have Frank, Warren, Jerry and Terry from US with us recently. They came to strengthen our Imara team and get to know us more as a team. I think it was very profitable time for us all.
The Health Workers:
Lyndall and Esther taught the first class of 16 HIV/AIDS health workers two weeks ago. They are all returning to their village churches to care for folks in their area who are sick at home and teach the wider community about the disease. Many village people here still think it is like malaria and not much you can do about it. Others think it is an unavoidable curse, others they can get rid of it by ways that I cannot repeat here!!

Heff recently reported
from Mwika.....
"Family whole at their Fathers Grave.
The girl with red skirt just graduated from “O” level and she passed her Exams, crying that she can’t proceed to “A” level because no one to pay for her School fees. Her Father died and that is his grave, the mother now is getting seriously sick, asking for just help for her daughter School. She is the only girl without HIV AIDS."
This is the kind of situation we come up against every day here.
Our Mercy work:
The project work continues in Mairowa, Karanse, Likamba, Mwika and Kondoa in various stages. One thing that is really important are the local committees who oversee the projects. We have worked with committees in all the projects recently strengthening them in one way or another. In some cases some have needed to be 'weeded out' because their motivations were a bit questionable.

I was proud of our Mercy team the other day... we have been REALLY frustrated with the hand pump installed in Mairowa because of various problems that should not occur on a 'bomb proof' pump. It has been pulled up three times to fix the pipe now - twice by 'experts' from the installation company. Well Godsave, Isaac and Elijah decided THEY would get the water needed to the people so they pulled it out, found the fault [a 'dry' glue joint in the pipes] and now its working and delivering a 20 litre bucket in just over a minute. It was great to see their initiative and the people sure appreciated it given the drought up there. Pray with us we can get the electric pump installed so the village has the full water potential available to them.
Leadership work:
Two teams from WA have just arrived at the same time...... Edna, Margie and Hannah from Perth came this morning and Danny and Dave from Australind/Bunbury just arrived at the guest house. Both women's leaders and Pastors will be blessed by their input in the next couple of weeks in Lushoto, Usa River and Karatu. Brenda from New Zealand is with us and falling in love with the people here. [Since writing this, here is a couple of photos of them with the under fours in Karanse and the guys in Karatu last week. They are all going great ministering to the pastors and women]

Pray with us:
We can meet needs of those coming for food help
Gods guidance on our forthcoming trip to Australia [March 1st to April 30th].
Imara has and is growing in every way..... continued guidance how to be most effective to strengthen Gods people to do the work He has called them to do in this country
The End!
